So you and your partner have decided to take the plunge. Congratulations on your choice to join the swinging lifestyle! You’ve hopefully already discussed your chosen swing style and limits. Now it’s time for the two of you to attend your first swing event. At this point you probably have mixed emotions. You may be excited but it’s also perfectly normal to be nervous. Maybe you’re not quite sure about the proper etiquette. Maybe you’re apprehensive because you don’t know what to expect. The first thing you should do is relax! Remember that you joined the lifestyle and are at this party to enjoy yourselves, so here are some tips to help you do just that.

The first step at any new swingers event/club is to familiarize yourself with the staff. Swingers clubs are almost always sure to staff helpful people that will make you as comfortable as possible. You’ll probably be offered a brief tour or introduction. This is a great time to ask any questions that you may have. There’s no need to be shy, the staff is there to assist you!

Be yourselves! Once you’ve gotten comfortable you’re going to want to start making introductions. After all, you’re here to meet people, and making friends is the key to successful swinging. Who knows, the couple you introduce yourselves to could turn out to be your first swinging encounter! You’ll probably discover that many regulars will be eager to introduce themselves to you, and they may introduce you to those that they know as well. This makes meeting people a lot easier. Just remember the same etiquette you use in any social situation and you’ll be fine.

Break the ice! Let people know that you’re new to the lifestyle. Not only is it a great way to start up a conversation, but you’ll discover that plenty of couples will be happy to show an inexperienced twosome the ropes. Also remember to keep conversation with your mate open and honest. If you still have anxieties about seeing them with someone else, let them know! Ask other couples about their first experiences, they probably have some great advice.

Remember proper etiquette! Never be pushy. While most new swingers are ready for fun, many aren’t prepared for rejection. It’s important to learn how to handle a “No, thanks” graciously. It’s also equally important to know how to deliver a gracious rejection as well.

Hopefully these tips will make your first swingers party a success. There are tons of resources available online if you still have more questions. You can comment here with questions as well. Still, the best way to acclimate yourself to the lifestyle is to get out there and make new friends! We were all newbies at some point!
